Our Story

Design Studio

Not just the object — but the rhythm behind it. The quiet motion of separating grain from chaff. The everyday poetry of a tool passed from hand to hand, village to village. We named the brand after this basket — rusero in Shona — as a way of honoring its simplicity, its geometry, and its wisdom. It’s a symbol of care, of nourishment, of slowing down to sort what matters.

We create modern home goods rooted in craft and culture — beginning in Zimbabwe, expanding thoughtfully across the globe.
Each piece is made slowly, in collaboration with artisans and small-scale makers. We work with weavers, woodworkers, ceramicists, and textile artists to shape collections that feel tactile, soulful, and considered.

What Shaped Us

Craft, care, and a sense of home.

We started Rusero to bring a piece of what shaped us into the homes we live in now. Raised in Zimbabwe, we grew up surrounded by the quiet beauty of handmade things — baskets, wood, clay, and the kind of care that’s passed from one hand to another. That sense of grounding stayed with us. Rusero is our way of sharing it — through thoughtful objects designed with intention, and a feeling that lingers.

HC & TR

Made by Us

We’re a small team brought together by a love for thoughtful design and meaningful work. Some of us grew up around baskets and clay. Others found their way here through fabric, scent, or story. What we share is a belief in making things slowly, and making them well.
